Understand
Sanjiang, meaning "three rivers," is a county located in the north Guangxi province, at the junction of Guangxi, Hunan, and Guizhou. This picturesque destination is named after the three rivers that flow through it - Rong River, Xun River, and Miao River. With its roots tracing back to the Song Dynasty, Sanjiang became a Dong Autonomous County of Guangxi in 1955. Covering an area of 2,454 square kilometers, Sanjiang is home to a diverse population, with the Dong ethnic tribe comprising more than 54% of the county's total population. As the capital of a Dong Autonomous Prefecture within the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Sanjiang offers a unique cultural experience. While the town itself may seem unassuming, the real gem lies just a short bus journey away. Located about half an hour from Sanjiang, the amazing and tranquil Chengyang awaits.
