Wulingyuan, a stunning natural landscape, is located 155 miles northwest of Changsha. To reach this magnificent place, your best option is to take transit from Zhangjiajie city. The closest domestic airport is Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport (IATA airport code DYG; formerly named Dayong Airport). From Zhangjiajie city, you can easily hire a taxi to Wulingyuan entrance, which should cost about 100RMB. If you prefer a more affordable mode of transportation, you can hop on a 1-hour minibus from the main bus station in Zhangjiajie City to the village of Zhangjiajie Cun, right at the entrance to the park. The bus fare is only 20 yuan, and you pay onboard, eliminating the need to wait in line at the ticket window. Upon arriving at the main bus station in Zhangjiajie Cun, you have a few options to reach the park entrance. You can take a leisurely 15-minute walk, hop on a public bus for a mere 1RMB, or catch a taxi for 5RMB. The bus station in Zhangjiajie is conveniently situated right next to the main train station, close to the McDonald's. To find the minibuses, head to the waiting area and keep going left until you spot a bustling gathering of minibuses.
