There are various ways to reach the exciting destination of Zacatecas. If you prefer air travel, you can take a direct flight to Zacatecas International Airport (ZCL) from Mexico City, Tijuana, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston. Once you arrive at the airport, it's just a short 20-minute taxi ride to downtown Zacatecas. If you're more inclined towards bus travel, most major cities offer direct buses to Zacatecas, especially those located in Northern Mexico. Companies such as Omnibus de México, Estrella Blanca, Autobuses Americanos, Omnibus Mexicanos, and Turimex Internacional operate these bus routes. If you're traveling from Southern Mexico, you may need to make a connection in Mexico City. The Central Camionera (bus station) is located on a hilltop slightly outside of town, and a taxi ride into the city will cost around 35 pesos. For those who prefer the freedom of driving, you can choose among several highways. From the south, Hwy. 45D is a toll road that will take you from Querétaro through Irapuato, León, and Aguascalientes. It's a relatively fast but expensive option. Hwy. 54 will lead you northeast to Saltillo and Monterrey or southeast to Guadalajara. Hwy. 49 heads north to Torreón and southeast to San Luis Potosí, while Hwy. 45 will take you to Durango. If you're traveling from abroad, your journey would typically start at Mexico City International Airport. From there, you can either take a bus or catch another flight to Zacatecas. Whichever mode of transportation you choose, get ready for an incredible adventure in Zacatecas!
