Yarkand, a city located on the Southern Silk Road, can be easily reached by bus from Kashgar or Khotan. It is approximately 200 kilometers away from Kashgar and the journey takes around 3 hours. Here are some transportation options: - Take a bus from Kashgar, which costs 43 RMB and takes 3 hours. Buses depart every 30 minutes from the Kashgar bus station. - Take a bus from Hotan, which takes approximately 6 hours. - There is also a daytime train that runs from Kashgar to Hotan, stopping in Yarkand at least once daily. Please note that as of August 2019, foreigners are currently not allowed to enter Yarkand due to "internal domestic issues." If you attempt to enter, the police will guide you to the train station and ensure you take the next train regardless of its destination.
