Get in
Looking to travel to Ulaanbaatar, Hovd, or Ulaangom? You have several options for getting there. Daily or several times a week, you can catch flights on Eznis, AeroMongolia, or Hunnu Air. If you prefer a more scenic route, direct buses are available from the Dragon Center in Ulaanbaatar to each Aimag Center. These buses used to take 48 hours to lgii and 40 hours to Hovd or Ulaangom, but thanks to recent road improvements, the travel time has been reduced to 32 and 27 hours respectively. For shorter distances, shared jeeps are a popular option, although they can be dangerously overcrowded. These jeeps operate daily between Hovd and lgii, and Hovd and Ulaangom, but less frequently between lgii and Ulaangom.
