There are enough activities to keep you entertained for a day or two, and at night, you can enjoy cheap seafood and experience the local nightlife. Although Waterfront City may not have fulfilled its initial promise, there are signs of potential growth, including recent expansions and renovations. In the larger context, Batam as a whole is experiencing rapid growth, and there is even hope for a revival of Waterfront City. So, while it may not be a bustling metropolis, the area still has its charms and can offer a relaxing escape for a short trip.

The Waterfront City Ferry Terminal is an impressive structure with Minangkabau-style construction and sharp, pointed eaves. It serves as a visa-on-arrival entry point for Indonesia. Travelers can take the BatamFast ferry from Singapore's HarbourFront terminal directly to Waterfront City. The journey takes approximately 70 minutes, including a stop at Sekupang. If you happen to miss these ferries, don't worry! There are many more options available to Sekupang, and from there, it's just a 15-kilometer trip to Waterfront City.
