The boat charges are Rs 750/- per person for a round trip, and a forest permit of Rs 50/- and a camera fee of Rs 25/- are required for entry to Jolly Buoy. Exciting news for travelers heading to Wandoor village from the Port Blair STS bus terminal! You can now hop on a bus that will take you directly to your destination. Keep an eye out for the board saying "Wandoor" on the bus. These buses are comfortable and usually have very few passengers, ensuring a pleasant journey. Tickets can be purchased directly on the bus for Rs. 12 per person per trip. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Wandoor village, it's just a short 5-minute walk to the beautiful Wandoor beach. Don't worry about transportation for the return journey, as all buses are required to go up to the beach before turning back due to narrow village roads. If you'd like to visit the beach directly, you can continue the bus ride till the beach at no extra cost. As you make your way from the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park towards Wandoor beach, keep an eye out for a public toilet on your left for reference. And guess what? At Wandoor beach, you'll find a Government Primary School established in 1969, adding to the uniqueness of the area. Just a friendly reminder, scooters and motorcycles are not available for rent in Wandoor (as of March 2010), so plan accordingly for your transportation needs.
