Uxmal welcomes visitors every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., promising an unforgettable journey into the past. Please note that due to Covid, there are currently fewer buses available for transportation. As of Feb. 23, Company SUR is the only operator providing buses from Merida AR at 6am, 9am, and 12pm, with additional departures in the afternoon. These second-class buses offer transportation to Campeche, and the return schedule from Uxmal may vary by 15-20 minutes. It's advisable to get an early start by taking the 6am bus, ensuring you arrive at Uxmal before the crowds and enjoy the serene atmosphere for a few precious hours. Beat the heat and capture stunning photographs with the morning light. For the return journey, buses are available at 9:30am, 12:00pm, 3:00pm, and 5:00pm, stopping at the same location where you were dropped off at the ruins. If you prefer an alternative mode of transportation, hitchhiking is an option, although car traffic in the direct route from Campeche to Merida is limited. To purchase tickets, head to the ADO Tame terminal, where you'll find a dedicated counter for non-ADO buses. The ticketing process is straightforward—acquire a smart card called AhorroBus for $10 and top up the corresponding credit for your journey. The fare for visiting Uxmal is $97 for adults and $49 for children (below 13 years old). If you have any inquiries, visit the conveniently located information booth in waiting room 'A.' The knowledgeable staff will be there to assist you in flawless English. Alternatively, you can opt for a bus or a frequent and affordable collectivo van ride from Merida to Muna, followed by a taxi journey from Muna to Uxmal, with an estimated cost of $4 USD.
