Established in October 2008, the Community-Based Ecotourism Project (CBET) at Trapeang Rung is a sustainable initiative supported by Wildlife Alliance. Its goal is to provide local communities in Koh Kong Province with alternative livelihoods while preserving the region's natural resources. Inspired by the success of the first CBET project in Chi Phat, Trapeang Rung CBET aims to showcase the mesmerizing natural beauty of the area. By participating in this project, you contribute to the well-being of the 2,179 individuals in 503 households residing in the target villages of Trapeang Roung Commune.

For those traveling to Trapeang Rung in Cambodia, there are various options for reaching this destination. If you're coming from Phnom Penh, you can catch a bus departing from Mao Tse Tung Blvd, near Psar Domhkor (Domhkor Market), at either 7:00am or 8:00am. This bus will take you to Koh Kong town (or Thailand) and arrive in Trapeang Rung between 11:30 and 13:00. If you're in Sihanoukville, there is a bus that leaves from the central bus station around 8:00am, and it will also arrive in Trapeang Rung between 11:30 and 12:30. Furthermore, if you're already in Koh Kong Town, you can catch a bus from the central bus station at 8:00am, which will take you to Phnom Penh and arrive in Trapeang Rung at around 10:00am. Just make sure to inform the driver that you plan to get off at Trapeang Rung.
