Ton Sai can only be accessed by boat, as there are no overland routes available. To reach Ton Sai, visitors typically take a short five-minute longtail boat ride or a 20-minute walk from the neighboring Rai Leh. Boats departing from Ao Nang may also make stops at Ton Sai. However, please note that boats between Ton Sai and Rai Leh do not operate at night. If you're arriving from Krabi bus station, you will need to take a taxi or tuk-tuk to Ao Nang Pier. The fare for this journey is approximately 60 baht. From Krabi airport, a shuttle bus service is available, costing 150 baht. However, keep in mind that the shuttle bus may take longer than expected, around 1.5+ hours. Alternatively, a taxi ride from the airport takes around 45 minutes and costs 600 Baht. Once at Ao Nang Pier, you can either share a boat or charter one to reach Ton Sai. Boats run regularly from Ao Nang Pier to Ton Sai, but they only depart when there are enough passengers (usually 8-12 people) on board. During peak season, it may take around 20 minutes to fill a boat depending on the time of day, while in low season, it may take longer. Tickets for the boat ride can be purchased at the ticket stand at the south end of Ao Nang Pier for 100 baht. However, please note that the ticket price almost doubles after 18:00. If the regular boat service is not available after 18:00, you may need to charter your own longtail boat, which costs around 600-800 baht. The boat ride from Ao Nang Pier to Ton Sai offers breathtaking views and takes approximately 8-10 minutes. Apart from the boat option, there are also three ways to reach Rai Leh (Railey) on foot from Ton Sai. Each route takes around 20 minutes and allows you to appreciate the natural surroundings. Additionally, you can rent a kayak and paddle around, which takes about 10 minutes. However, please keep in mind that these walking or kayaking options should not be attempted at night without a flashlight/torch, and caution should be exercised on the jungle paths, especially after rainfall.
