Get in
Tokyo Station, the central hub for Shinkansen trains in Japan, is located in the Chiyoda Ward. To reach the Marunouchi side of the station in Chiyoda, you need to cross over to the west exit, which features the station's original World War I-era architecture. This side of the station is a sight to behold and reflects the rich history of the area. Tokyo Station is well connected with various train lines. The JR Yamanote Line forms a loop that encompasses the heart of the city, while the JR Chuo Line and Sobu Line cut across the loop horizontally. Within the Chiyoda Ward, you can find train stations such as Yurakucho, Akihabara, Kanda (on the Yamanote Line), and Ochanomizu, Yotsuya (on the Chuo Line). For convenient transportation, several subway lines bring you to different parts of Tokyo. These include the Marunouchi Line (red) to Shinjuku, the Hanzomon Line (purple) to Shibuya, the Hibiya Line (gray) to Roppongi, the Tozai Line (blue) to Nakano, and the Chiyoda Line (green) to Harajuku. Additionally, the Toei Asakusa Line (pink) connects to Kyobashi and Nihonbashi, allowing for easy access to Haneda Airport. Otemachi Station, a massive subway station located in Tokyo's Marunouchi district, serves as a major transportation hub. With connections to five subway lines, it sprawls under multiple city blocks and is one of Tokyo's largest subway stations. Navigating the station may involve traversing a maze of escalators and walking a considerable distance, but it is worth it for the convenient transfers it offers.
