Get in
Embark on a thrilling boat journey from the vibrant city of Dangriga to the idyllic Tobacco Caye. The boats will whisk you away in just 20-30 minutes, providing you with a unique perspective of the beautiful coastline. If you're staying at the Tobacco Caye Lodge or Reef's End, you're in luck! They offer boat transfers at the same price, allowing you to enjoy a seamless travel experience. Alternatively, if you prefer a bit of spontaneity, head to the Riverside Cafe dock between 8:30-9:00am and inquire about the next boat departure. Take advantage of this opportunity to explore Glover's Reef or Thatch Caye by arranging a direct boat ride or hitching a ride with fellow snorkelers.
Tobacco Caye is not just any island—it's a natural reserve. To support the marine reserve, there is a small fee of BZ$10 per day for being on the island. However, students can enjoy a discounted rate. The government official in charge of fee collection shows up irregularly, giving you freedom to roam around the island while supporting this important cause.
