Welcome to San Andres de Pisimbala, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Colombia. This tiny hamlet, known simply as San Andres, is the perfect base for exploring the wonders of Tierradentro. Getting here is part of the adventure, with multiple transportation options to choose from. If you're coming from Popayan, hop on one of the several buses that make the 5-hour ride to Tierradentro. Some busses even drop you off at El Cruz, a place just 2 kilometers away from San Andres. If you're coming from San Agustin, make your way to Pitalito and catch a bus to La Plata. From there, a bus will take you to San Andres in the afternoon. For those coming from Cali, while there is no direct route, fear not! It is recommended to go through either Popayan or San Agustin. Just remember to avoid the "zona roja" around Corinto as there is a heavy military presence and it is considered dangerous. So gear up and embark on an unforgettable journey to San Andres!
