Welcome to Lumut, the vibrant center of Hilir Perak district and the third largest town in Perak state, Malaysia. Despite its name meaning "Diamond Bay," Lumut is not actually located near a bay. However, the town is nestled along the beautiful meander of the Perak River, giving it the appearance of being situated near the bay. According to local beliefs, the meandering nature of the river will eventually erode the narrow neck of land between its loops, transforming Lumut into an island. This lends an air of anticipation and wonder to the future of this charming town. Lumut offers a delightful mix of natural beauty and cultural charm. Explore the picturesque riverbanks, take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront, and soak in the scenic views. The town also serves as a gateway to the renowned Pangkor Island, where pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters beckon visitors. Immerse yourself in the local culture and savor the flavors of Perak through its diverse culinary offerings. Indulge in mouthwatering local delicacies and experience the warmth and hospitality of the locals. Lumut is a destination brimming with potential and promises an unforgettable experience for every traveler who ventures here.
