Get in
Getting to Telemark is convenient, whether you prefer traveling by air, car, bus, or train. If you choose to fly, Skien Geiteryggen Airport and Notodden Airport are your options. Sandefjord Airport Torp is another nearby airport that has direct flights from various European cities. You can take a bus from there to Porsgrunn, Skien, or B, or hop on the gratis shuttle bus to the nearby train stop before taking a train to your destination. For those who prefer driving, the main road of Eastern and Southern Norway, E18, passes through Telemark. The tollbooth stations on this route are reasonably priced, and the road itself is considered one of the best in Norway. However, during peak summer traffic, be prepared for longer travel times. Alternatively, you can opt for a bus or train journey. Buses from Oslo are readily available, and if you choose the train, you can travel from Gardermoen Airport via Oslo to Porsgrunn or Skien. Ticket prices vary, but if you book in advance, you may be able to get a discounted rate. Just remember not to place wet luggage on the overhead compartments of the train.
