Understand
As early as 1803, Talensac served as an independent parish that included the village of Le Verger. The first church, dedicated to Saint-Anne, was rebuilt around 1703. Tragically, this church was devastated by a fire in June 1872. However, the resilient community quickly constructed another church, the one that stands today, which was consecrated in 1882 by the archbishop of the time.
Talensac has a captivating history intertwined with the reigns of Judical and Erispo, kings of Brittany. Erispo resided in the village of "Chtellier," which was fortified with moats. In a notorious event on the 2nd of November 857, Erispo was assassinated by his first cousin, Salomon, in the church of Talensac. Salomon's motive was to prevent Erispo's daughter from marrying the son of Charles le Chauve, as this union would have threatened Salomon's lands and the independence of Brittany.
In 1152, Guillaume I's spouse bequeathed Saint-Jacques de Montfort abbey, the taxes of Talensac, and the town mill to the monks. Godefroy de Montfort, the son of Guillaume I and Amice de Porhot, relinquished "Le pr au Comte" in 1171.
During the 1372, the castle of "Chtellier," owned by the Bintin family, suffered devastation.
In 1697, Talensac witnessed an eventful union as Jeanne-Franoise De Massuel, Lady of the Bois-de-Bintin, married Mathurin Lesn, the Lord of Belin. They resided in the grand "Bdoyre" castle, an imposing residence from the 17th century.
Sadly, the castle could not withstand the test of time and was ultimately demolished around 1920, marking the end of an era in Talensac's history.

The first popular French dish is Ratatouille, a colorful vegetable stew traditionally made with eggplant, zucchini, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and seasoned with herbs such as thyme and basil. This hearty, non-meat dish is typically served alongside grilled meats or fish. Another famous French dish is Coq au Vin, a braised chicken dish that originated in Burgundy. It involves marinating chicken pieces in red wine with mushrooms, bacon, onions, and garlic before slow-cooking them until tender and flavorful. The final dish is often garnished with parsley and served with potatoes, noodles, or bread. Lastly, the iconic French dish, Croissants, are flaky, buttery pastries made from layers of laminated dough, which are then curved into a crescent shape and traditionally served for breakfast or as an afternoon snack. Although they are not typically a savory or sweet dish, croissants can be filled with various ingredients like ham and cheese (called a jambon-beurre) or almond paste and sugar (an almond croissant).
