Tablas Island, also known as the Island of Osigan, is a hidden gem in the Philippines. This tropical paradise has managed to preserve its original charm, with untouched wildlife and stunning landscapes. As you explore the island, you'll be captivated by its deep-green vegetation, crossed by rivers and streams. Tablas offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including the chance to discover magnificent waterfalls and caves enveloped in tropical nature. Don't miss the opportunity to visit Sig-Kop Cave, Mablaran Falls, Garing Falls, Mainit Falls, or the turquoise-colored Linao D Victo. And remember, you don't need to climb mountains to enjoy breathtaking views. The winding roads of Tablas offer incredible outlooks on the surrounding nature, revealing its true beauty. Unlike its well-known neighbor Boracay, Tablas remains a hidden paradise, with its beaches deserted and peaceful. One major port on the west central coast of the island is Odiongan, the largest municipality in Romblon in terms of population. Tablas is further divided into different municipalities, each offering its own unique charm, such as Alcantara, Calatrava, Ferrol, Looc, Odiongan, San Agustin, San Andres, Santa Fe, and Santa Maria. One thing to keep in mind when visiting Tablas is that the ATM situation can be tricky. Although there are several ATMs available, internet connectivity issues can make it challenging to withdraw cash. It is highly advisable to have enough Pesos on hand before arriving on the island. In case of emergency, there are pawnshops like M Lhuiller that offer currency exchange services. However, on Sibuayan Islands, there are currently no ATMs that accept credit cards from foreigners. If you find yourself in need of cash, you can transfer funds to an M Lhuiller branch, although it can be quite expensive. So, make sure to plan ahead and be prepared to fully enjoy your time in this untouched paradise.
