Understand
Tabasco, located in southeastern Mexico between Cancun and Mexico City, is known as the "Eden of Mexico". With its flat terrain adorned with lush tropical vegetation, wetlands, and vast rivers like the Grijalva and Usumacinta, it presents a paradise-like landscape. Tabasco shares borders with Veracruz, Chiapas, Campeche, and Guatemala, embracing the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico. The shoreline is abundant with oil, attracting extensive operations to harness this valuable natural resource. The locals are referred to as "Tabasqueo/as" or "choco/as". Tabasco's climate can be described in two words: "hot" and "humid". The most comfortable period to visit is from November to January when temperatures range from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius (77 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit). However, even during these months, the air may feel sultry due to high dew points, especially for those accustomed to non-tropical climates. The state of Tabasco is divided into five captivating regions: Chontalpa, Centro, Sierra, Pantanos, and Rios.
