If you're seeking an immersive and unforgettable experience in the Sundarbans, look no further. Embark on an exhilarating safari from Dhaka or Khulna, ranging from overnight trips to week-long adventures. These safaris offer the best way to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Sundarbans, where you can encounter diverse wildlife and captivating landscapes. While it is possible to organize your own trip from Munsiganj-Satkhira, Mongla, or Khulna, be prepared for the potential challenges and required permits. Acquiring a permit from the Divisional Forest Office in Khulna is a must. Once you have obtained the permit, you can hire a boat from Mongla or Dhangmari to transport you to Hiron Point. From there, hiring a knowledgeable guide will ensure you make the most of your expedition into the park. Although day trips from Mongla might not be as captivating, there are still numerous thrilling experiences awaiting you. Negotiating the boat price may be a task, but it's worth it to encounter wildlife at the Karamjal Wildlife Center. However, if you seek something more authentic, a rundown zoo isn't exactly what you had in mind. Keep in mind that boatmen typically charge Tk 200 for the trip (while locals pay Tk 50/day), and foreigners are subject to a steep Tk 750/day entry fee at the center. Travelers coming from Kolkata, India, have the option of taking suburban trains to Canning (64 km), where launch services to Sundarban are available. Alternatively, buses are also available to reach Raidighi (76 km), Najat (92 km), Sonakhali (100 km), and Namkhana (105 km). From these points, motorboats will transport you to the enchanting Sundarban, making for an unforgettable journey.
