Stansbury, situated on the eastern side of the picturesque Yorke Peninsula, is a perfect starting point for exploring this incredible region. With just a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Adelaide, Stansbury offers easy access to both Innes National Park, located 110 kilometers to the south, and the Copper Coast, 110 kilometers to the north. The rich history of Stansbury dates back to its early days as Oyster Bay, renowned for its abundance of mouthwatering oysters that were considered the best in South Australia. In fact, the bay was so abundant that numerous oyster dredges operated in the area, until the bay's resources were eventually exhausted. Stansbury's name was changed in 1873 by Governor Sir Anthony Musgrave, who named it after his dear friend Mr. Stansbury. Today, the town is also home to Adelaide Brighton Cement's Klein Point quarry, which regularly ships limestone to Adelaide on the impressive Accolade 2.
