Shngl is a historical village located near Ya'an, Sichuan, China. It's a great place to visit between Chengdu, Leshan, Emei, and Kangding. Shngl was once an important stop on the Silk Road and during the Long March. The town is known for its 8 different stone bridges that cross the waterways surrounding it on all sides. Many slogans carved into rock by the Red Army can still be seen around the town. Despite the recent Sichuan earthquake and flooding, tourism in Shngl is picking up again. While most tourists are domestic Chinese, foreigners are starting to visit and explore this hidden gem.
