Understand
The Senggigi region is an incredible destination with distinct regional differences. Instead of just booking a hotel in Senggigi, visitors should be aware of the unique areas within Senggigi. - Mangsit, located just north of Senggigi township, offers a tranquil beach with traditional outrigger boats resting on the sand. It serves as a gateway to the northern area of activities, including the beautiful Gili Islands, Tanjung, and Mount Rinjani. Mangsit has well-established resort hotel choices but fewer tourist activities like shopping and nightlife. It can be easily reached from the center of Senggigi by taxi or public bemo. - Kerangdangan, situated in a quiet bay north of Senggigi township, has rental villas in the valley behind the beach. - Senggigi (center) is not your typical tourist resort town. While it might not offer the shopping and socializing experiences of Bali, it has enough bars, pool tables, TV screens with sports broadcasts, relaxing lounge areas, and beachside restaurants to keep people occupied. Many visitors use Senggigi as a home base for day trips to waterfalls, the Gili Islands, or exploring authentic villages, temples, and forests within a couple of hours' drive. - Batu Bolong, located to the south of Senggigi, offers a coastline with hotels, cafes, restaurants, karaoke establishments, and a large barn-like nightclub. It feels like a southern extension of the Senggigi township. There is also a large housing complex catering to both Indonesian and expatriate long-term residents and visitors. Taxis or bemo provide quick access to the center of Senggigi. Both Mangsit and Batu Bolong have a focus on their beachfront hotels, whereas the center of Senggigi comes alive at night with live music and a lively street atmosphere. Over the past decade, Lombok's tourism sector faced challenges, leading to a subdued period in Senggigi. However, things have been improving recently, with new villas, hotels, shops, and tourism ventures opening. Senggigi is now becoming increasingly popular for its stunning scenery, unique culture, and flavors of Lombok.

The newly opened Bandara Internasional Lombok (BIL), which replaced Selaparang International Airport, is situated near the city of Praya in central south Lombok. It is about 40km south of Mataram and 55km southeast of Senggigi. The convenient location of the new airport allows for easy access to the beautiful Senggigi tourism precinct.
