Step into the enchanting community formerly known as "Silver Buckle," a place steeped in pirate legends and captivating tales. It was rumored that a pirate once buried his treasure in this very area, leaving two brave guards to protect it. However, upon his return, the pirate betrayed them and took back the treasure. Unfortunately, his ill-fated escape led to a tragic shipwreck and his demise. The community's name was later changed to reflect the gorgeous sandy beach, which stretches along the open cove. This pristine beach offers a perfect spot to bask in the awe-inspiring scenery, take a refreshing swim in the saltwater, or leisurely stroll along the shoreline. Don't miss the mesmerizing sight of the caplin "rolling" onto the shore to spawn during late June and July at "Caplin Gulch," a section of the 2km beach. If conditions align, you might even catch a glimpse of majestic icebergs in the bay, adding an extra touch of wonder to your experience.
