One popular choice is to take a marshrutka, a type of public minibus, from Tbilisi to Rustavi. These marshrutkas can be found at the Station Square and Politeknikuri metro stations. Look for the ones with "Rustavi" written on their windshields. When boarding from Station Square, you'll find the Rustavi-bound marshrutkas parked behind the cluster of stores near the metro entrance. At Politeknikuri, they will be waiting just outside the northeast exit of the metro. Keep an eye out for the thin parking lot next to the university. These marshrutkas take the scenic route along President Heydar Aliyev Embankment/Gorgasalis St, offering a picturesque view of the riverside. If you spot one, wave it down and it will stop if there's space available. Once you're on your way to Rustavi, the marshrutkas will travel down Megobroba Street, the main thoroughfare in town. You'll be greeted by the sight of countless Soviet-style apartment buildings, a characteristic feature of Rustavi. When you're ready to alight, simply call out "Gaacheret" to the driver. Anywhere is a suitable place to disembark. Operating from early morning until midnight, these marshrutkas provide convenient transportation between Tbilisi and Rustavi.
