Understand
Qusar, located in Northeastern Azerbaijan, is a vibrant city center. It is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and shares borders with Khachmaz rayon to the east, Quba rayon to the south, and Gabala rayon to the west. The northern border connects to Russia. Qusar rayon has a population of approximately 82,500 people, many of whom are ethnic Lezgins. The Lezgins have a rich heritage from living in the Greater Caucasus Mountains for centuries. Their traditions, food, and dance have similarities to the Azeris, but with their own unique style. In surrounding towns, the Lezgi language can often be heard. While Azeri is the official language, Russian is widely spoken as a second or third language. As a foreigner, it is often assumed that you speak Russian. It is a popular destination for those seeking mild summers and a snowy winter wonderland experience in the mountains.
