Get in
If you're planning a trip to Quillabamba, hop on a daily bus from the Santiago terminal in Cuzco. The journey will take you around 7-8 hours and costs approximately 4 US dollars. Don't worry, the scenic route via Santa Maria is totally worth it. For the best experience, we recommend traveling with Turismo Ampay, a trusted company for this trip.
But if you're heading to other destinations like Ivochote or Huancacalle, don't worry, there are options for you too. Combis run from Santa Maria to Quillabamba, providing a convenient mode of transportation.
Once you're in Quillabamba, make sure to hail a mototaxi. These little vehicles are the best way to get around town. As of May 2013, the rate was 1.50 soles to go anywhere in town, but it's always a good idea to confirm the price before hopping on.
