If you're traveling along the Carretera Austral, a scenic highway in Chile, you wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to visit Ventisquero Colgante. This impressive glacier is located about 70 km south of La Junta or 20 km south of Puyuhuapi. You can easily reach the entrance of Ventisquero Colgante by taking any bus that passes through the Carretera Austral. Alternatively, you can make your way from Chaiten in the north or Coyhaique in the south.
Once you reach the turnoff, you still have a short 2 km journey to the camp where the glacier awaits. It's worth noting that this part of the Carretera Austral is currently undergoing the process of being paved, so be prepared for a gravel road adventure (as of November 2017). So pack your bags, hop on a bus or take your car or bike, and embark on an exciting and scenic journey to witness the majestic Ventisquero Colgante!
