Bus: Puli is well-connected by bus services. Some buses start from Taichung Rail Station, while others begin their journey from Kan Cheng Station, located about a 15-minute walk northeast from the train station. Look for buses that go via the national 6th highway as they will help you reach Puli faster. You can find route maps and stops on the bus companies' websites. If your accommodation in Puli is near one of the bus stops, you can simply ring the bell to get off. 2. Kuo-Kuang Bus: This bus company operates a route between Taipei and Puli. The journey takes around 3.5 hours and buses run every hour. The fare is approximately NT$300. 3. Nantou Bus and Chuan Hang Bus: From Taichung main railway station, you can take Nantou Bus or Chuan Hang Bus to Puli. The journey takes about one hour, with buses running every 15-20 minutes. The fare is approximately NT$125. 4. Nantou Bus from Kan Cheng Station: Starting from September 2007, Nantou Bus has added a new route departing from Kan Cheng Station and Taichung High-Speed Railway station to Puli. This same bus also takes you to Sun Moon Lake and the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village resort near Puli. Tickets to Taichung are sold for around NT$150. Buses from Puli to Sun Moon Lake take approximately half an hour and cost NT$50. 5. Chuan Hang Bus (CHBus): CHBus operates from Taichung Train station to Puli. The fare is around NT$134 and the journey takes approximately one hour. There are pick-up points at Kan Cheng, which is a 15-minute walk from Taichung Train station, and another near the Ubus station, just a 2-minute walk away. Remember, if you have an Easycard with sufficient funds, you can use it to tap in and tap out of the buses instead of buying bus tickets.
