If you prefer flying, Puerto Barrios has an international airport. For those seeking a more adventurous mode of transportation, you can take a boat from 'El muelle' terminal, located near 'El Rastro' or Calle 12. The boats offer trips to Punta de Palma, Livingston, and Punta Gorda in Belize. When traveling from Punta Gorda to Puerto Barrios, please note that boat service may have reduced frequency during the low season (July/August). The boats usually depart at 13:00 and 14:00. After crossing the immigration in Punta Gorda, proceed to the dock and purchase your tickets at a booth near immigration. Don't hesitate to ask the security for assistance. Please be aware that an exit fee of BLZ 30 + BLZ 7,50 is charged. The boats to Puerto Barrios make a stop in Livingston before reaching their final destination. If you wish to explore Livingston, you can disembark there as well. Immigration in Puerto Barrios is just a short walk from the dock. Taxis are available in Puerto Barrios to take you to the border for approximately $9 per person. Be cautious of people approaching you at the dock, as regular taxis are located at the exit. There are also likely buses available in Puerto Barrios. Once you reach the Honduras side of the border at Corintho, you can find buses and taxis (100L) to take you to Puerto Cortez in Honduras. Additionally, consider visiting the charming town of Omoa.
