Exploring Porkeri is a breeze, even without a car! Simply hop on the convenient bus line 700, which conveniently connects Tvroyri and Sumba, with Porkeri nestled between these charming villages. If you're arriving by ferry from Trshavn to the Krambatangi port, make your way to the bus 700. Inform the driver of your desired destination and they will let you know when you've arrived in Porkeri. For those traveling by car, when you reach Suuroy, take a left turn onto the main road and head straight south. Along the way, you'll pass through the delightful village of Ravk, followed by Hov. Don't take the first turn to Porkeri, as it's an old narrow road. Instead, continue on the more modern road with two lanes, leading you directly to the picturesque village. All the mentioned villages are situated on the enchanting east coast of Suuroy in the Faroe Islands. Keep an eye out for the charming black wooden church with a turfed roof, which will greet you on the right side as you descend into the village. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable journey through Porkeri's natural beauty.
