If you are in Zhengzhou, there are buses available throughout the day until around 8 o'clock at night. Other nearby cities likely have similar bus services. Alternatively, you can take the train to Pingdingshan, which is a stop on the Xi'an - Nanchang (K790) or the Guangzhou - Taiyuan (K238) railway line. However, keep in mind that Pingdingshan is only a midnight stop.
