Welcome to Phou Khao Khouay National Protected Area (PKK), home to the breathtaking Tad Xay and Pha Xay waterfalls. These two falls, located less than a kilometer apart, are considered the most beautiful in the area. The journey begins at the source of the Houay Xay stream, nestled in the majestic northern mountains of the park. As you meander through the dense and untouched evergreen and dry deciduous forest, you'll witness the calm and gentle creek during the dry season. But don't be fooled, once the rain starts to fall, this serene creek transforms into a roaring "wild dangerous beast" for the rest of the year. In September, Tad Xay becomes a thundering white wall, an awe-inspiring spectacle you don't want to miss. Crystal clear waters cascade over seven 1-3 meter steps, flowing in a sharp curve and plunging 800 meters downstream over a steep 50 meters cliff into a breathtaking forested gorge. Discover the true meaning of "Tad" (waterfall), "Pha" (cliff), "Houay" (stream), and "Nam" (river) as you immerse yourself in the wonder of nature.
