Understand
Phan Rang-Thap Cham, a former capital of the Cham empire, is a hidden gem located along the picturesque 1A national highway between Nha Trang and Mui Ne. This enchanting town is a testament to the rich history of the Cham people, with many still residing in the area. Explore the town and discover restored Cham relics that take you back in time. For a tranquil beach experience, head to the domestic resort town of Ninh Chu, just 8 km to the east. Phan Rang-Thap Cham offers a peaceful and authentic alternative to the more touristy destinations of Nha Trang and Mui Ne. Keep an eye out for tour buses passing by on their way to Dalat, as they often make a stop here for lunch and to visit the charming Cham towers. As you marvel at the stunning landscape, you may hear whispers of a cog railway that once connected Phan Rang-Thap Cham to Dalat. Unfortunately, this railway suffered damage during the war. Although it is no longer operational, there is hope for its restoration. The government has expressed their commitment to fixing this historic railway, envisioning it as a valuable asset for both commerce and tourism. While the declaration was made in 2010, construction has yet to commence as of 2012. Let's keep our fingers crossed for this exciting project!
