This picturesque area, nestled amidst gigantic rocks, witnessed a period of abandonment in the 1960s, freezing time and turning the town into a ghostly spectacle. However, thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteers from all over Europe, the ancient abandoned village of Pentedattilo has experienced a remarkable rebirth since the early 1990s. Streets once deserted have been restored, ancient dwellings have been rearranged, and houses have been renovated, breathing new life into the village. Now, artisans showcase their crafts in workshops, while artists captivate audiences with their mesmerizing performances. The village thrives, sustained by the dedication of the children from the ProPentedattilo Association, who skillfully manage the artisan workshops, ensuring the town's vibrant spirit lives on.
