If you're planning a trip to Luang Prabang, stopping in this town overnight is a must-do. Most visitors take the slow-boat trip to or from Luang Prabang, making this town their mid-way point. But if you're looking for a faster option, you can arrive by speedboat heading north. Keep in mind, the speedboat is much less comfortable, but it gets you to your destination before the slow boat. Plus, you'll have the advantage of choosing a guesthouse and showering without having to wait in line. Another adventurous option is to travel by bus, although it's a rough and long journey. But hey, sometimes the scenic route is the most rewarding one, right?
