Onjuku, nestled in a sweeping bay, is a vibrant small town on the Pacific coast of the Bs peninsula. Its coastal beauty and rich marine life have attracted commercial diving for abalone and lobster. In the past, young women known as "ama" would dive fearlessly, using no breathing apparatus, their bare chests facing the ocean's challenges. You can still witness the valor of these divers through the statue of an ama on the Onjuku station platform.
