Understand
In the past, the village and beach by the lagoon were known as Belcekz or Belceiz. However, the area has now transformed into a magnet for mass tourism, and the town, as well as the lagoon itself, is recognized as ldeniz, meaning "dead sea." Just 2 km inland from ldeniz lie the former villages of Ovack and Hisarn. These quaint villages used to be family-run guesthouses, but they have since evolved into bustling concrete sprawls of hotels and bars. Dubbed as "bedroom communities," they provide affordable accommodation near the vibrant town of ldeniz. During the peak season from May to October, ldeniz is a favorite destination among British tourists, adding a vibrant and diverse atmosphere to this coastal paradise.
