To reach the island of Ocracoke, you can use the ferry, a boat, or a private plane. The Hatteras ferry, which is free, provides a thrilling 40-minute ride and runs approximately every 30 minutes during the summer. Additionally, there are two other ferry routes available. The Cedar Island ferry takes 2.25 hours and runs from the southwest, while the Swan Quarter ferry takes 2.5 hours and runs from west of Ocracoke.
