Ocean Shores, a coastal town, is greatly influenced by the cold Pacific Ocean. While the rest of the state may be sunny and cloudless, within a mere 10 miles of the ocean, expect the presence of eerie fog, strong winds, and mist. So, if you're hoping to "catch some rays," you might want to reconsider.
Home to over 1,300 members of the Quinault, Queets, Hoh, Quilieute, Chehalis, Cowlitz, and Chinook tribes, the Quinault Indian Nation resides on a vast and untouched 208,150-acre Reservation. This reservation is adorned with wild coastlines, pristine lakes, roaring rivers, and unspoiled wilderness. Notably, it is also home to one of the largest conifer-producing forests in the entire United States.
In an interesting twist, it's worth mentioning that renowned crooner musician Pat Boone was an early investor in the development of Ocean Shores back in 1967.
