Get in
To reach Oberammergau, you have a couple of options. If you prefer to travel by train, you can take a regional train from Munich central station (Mnchen Hauptbahnhof) to Innsbruck. Once you reach the Murnau train station, switch to the train that goes to Oberammergau. It's the only other train at the station, so you won't miss it. The journey from Murnau to Oberammergau is a breeze since Oberammergau is the final stop.
If you prefer to drive, you can head south from Munich and hop on Autobahn A-95. Take the Ettal exit and then continue on B-23 until you reach Oberammergau. It's a straightforward route that will lead you directly to your destination.
