Get in
Emmeloord, located in the Noordoostpolder region, is well-connected by the main access road, the A6. The A6 provides convenient access to Amsterdam and the north, where it connects to the A1 and A7 respectively. Additionally, smaller roads link the villages within the region, as well as nearby destinations, to Emmeloord. If you're traveling from Amsterdam and wish to visit Schokland, simply follow the A6 and take exit 13 for Urk. Then, continue onto the N352 towards Nagele and Schokland. On the other hand, if you're already in Emmeloord and want to head to Schokland, you can take the N50 to Ens and then the N362 to reach your destination. Public transport options to Emmeloord include bus routes 315 and 325. Bus 315 operates between Emmeloord and Lelystad or Groningen, making it convenient for travelers coming from these cities. To reach Emmeloord from Amsterdam, take a train to Lelystad and transfer to the bus there since Emmeloord does not have a train station. On the other hand, bus 325 connects Emmeloord to Groningen. Unfortunately, Schokland is not well-served by public transport. It is advisable to arrange for a rental bike or car to reach the area. However, if you're in Emmeloord, bus 141 (direction Zwolle) can take you as far as stop Sloetweg. From there, it's an enjoyable 30-minute walk to your destination.
