Planning a visit to Nandi Hills in Bangalore? Make sure you don't go alone! Single person entry is not permitted, so bring at least one companion with you. If you do go alone, don't worry, you can always talk to and join another group before heading to the ticket counter. Safety first! Now, let's talk about the journey. The fastest and most convenient way to reach Nandi Hills is by car, bike, or rikshaw. There is a motorable road that leads to the top of the hill, but beware, there is only one road. As you make your way up, you'll encounter around 40 curves, adding a touch of thrill to your adventure. Keep an eye out for vehicles coming from the other side! If you prefer a more adventurous route, you can choose to climb up through steps and be in the midst of nature's lap. Along the way, you'll discover many exciting things, such as an old temple, a very large open tank, Tippu's rock, and the Hanuman Temple. However, be cautious of the aggressive monkeys that inhabit the area. It's best not to carry any food or prepackaged snacks to avoid any unwanted encounters. Wondering how to get to Nandi Hills from Bangalore? Well, with the international airport at Devanhalli, it's easier than ever. Simply take the same route as the airport, and after Devanhalli, take a left turn indicated by a signboard with a left arrow for Nandi Hills. Keep going straight, and you'll soon find yourself at your destination. For those who prefer public transport, fret not! You can take a bus from Bangalore's central bus station, Majestic or Kempegowda Bus Station. The local bus fare is around 46/- per head, and tickets are sold directly on the bus. If you want to secure your seat in advance, you can book it at the ticket counter at Majestic for Rs. 200/- per head. The KSRTC bus to the top departs at 8:30AM from platform 13 (the platform may vary). Returning buses to Bangalore leave from Nandi Hills at 2:30PM, 4:15PM, and 5PM. If you miss the direct bus to the top, don't worry! There is another option. You can go to Chikballapur, where you can catch a private bus to Nandi Hills. Buses leave every half an hour, and the journey takes about 2 hours. Simply take a bus to Chikballapur from platform 11 at Majestic, and you'll be on your way. Remember, there are no buses from Nandi Hills heading directly to Bangalore until the afternoon if you choose to stay overnight. However, there are plenty of buses that run to Chikballapur throughout the morning, and buses leave constantly from there to Bangalore. So plan accordingly and enjoy your visit to Nandi Hills!
