Mui Ne, situated 180 kilometers east of Ho Chi Minh City, is a vibrant town and cape that enthralls visitors with its stunning natural beauty. The fusion of the town of Mui Ne, the village of Hon Rom, and Suoi Nuoc Beach has created a dynamic ward that, along with other coastal communities, contributed to the expansion of Phan Thiet's population to nearly 400,000, transforming it into a flourishing city. As you travel northeast of Phan Thiet's city center, a scenic coastal road leads you up a hill in Phu Hai ward and down to the mesmerizing crescent-shaped Mui Ne Bay in Ham Tien ward. Once a sparsely-inhabited beach, the area has witnessed remarkable development over the past two decades, resulting in a 10-kilometer stretch of resorts that sparkle like pearls along Nguyen Dinh Chieu and Huynh Thuc Khang streets, gracefully shaded by majestic coconut palms. The forces of nature often rearrange the sand along the coast, which can cause concern for some developers. While some spots on Rang Beach in Ham Tien ward may only have concrete breakwaters instead of sandy beaches due to seasonal sand migration, other areas retain their pristine beauty. For those who value a sandy beach, thorough research is advised before booking a resort in Ham Tien ward to ensure your preferences are met. To cater to various budgets, bargain hotels have emerged on the inland side of the road, directly across from the luxurious beachside resorts in both Mui Ne and Ham Tien wards. Staying on the inland side may require passing through a resort, which could result in some minor inconveniences with the guards. Nevertheless, access to the beach is permitted for all, although the resorts diligently protect their lounge chairs and palm-thatched umbrellas. Resort development has flourished in Ham Tien and Mui Ne Wards, as well as along the southern coast of Phan Thiet, specifically in Tien Thanh commune and the vicinity of the Ke Ga lighthouse. Known for its popularity among Russian tourists, Phan Thiet, particularly Rang Beach in Ham Tien ward, boasts numerous restaurants that proudly display signs, names, and menus in Russian. Although a decline in Russian Ruble exchange rates in 2014 temporarily decreased the number of Russian visitors, a resurgence has been observed since late 2016. Within the Mi N ward itself, you will discover two stunning beaches: Ganh Beach and Suoi Nuoc Beach. Over time, both beaches have witnessed an increase in resorts, shops, and restaurants, captivating visitors with their irresistible charm. With strong sea breezes that prevail along the shores of Phan Thiet, these beaches have become a haven for kitesurfing and windsurfing enthusiasts, offering thrilling adventures against the backdrop of breathtaking coastal scenery. The discovery of Rang Beach in Ham Tien ward by many foreigners occurred on October 24, 1995. On that day, countless individuals flocked to the area, drawn by the promise of witnessing a rare solar eclipse. Scientists had identified the beaches northeast of Phan Thiet's city center as one of the prime locations in the world to observe the total eclipse. However, travel guides at the time mistakenly referred to Ham Tien as Mui Ne and designated Rang Beach as Mui Ne Beach, leading to confusion that persists to this day. As a result, most tourists wrongly assume that all three wards east of the city center are called Mui Ne.
