Understand
Mount Wilhelm, standing at an impressive altitude of 4,509 meters above sea level, proudly holds the title of the highest mountain in Papua New Guinea and the entire political region of Oceania/South Pacific. While it may not claim the title of the highest mountain on the island of New Guinea, that honor belongs to Puncak Jaya in West Papua, Indonesia, it remains a remarkable peak in the heart of New Guinea, Indonesia, and peninsular Southeast Asia.
