Montesarchio, a town with a rich history, is located in the beautiful Caudino Valley. Legends say that Hercules himself once roamed these lands, slaying a formidable lion in a cave on Mount Taburno. This incredible feat earned the place the name "Montesarculo", a tribute to Hercules' heroic deed. Another name for Montesarchio is "Caudium", from which the valley it resides in, Valle Caudino, takes its name.
Today, Montesarchio is adorned with a charming tower atop Mount Taburno, towering over the town below. The hill also boasts an impressive castle and two parts of the old town, seamlessly blending with the more modern area. From this elevated vantage point, one can marvel at the vast plain that stretches out before them, inviting exploration and adventure.
