Embarking on a journey to this enchanting destination is an experience brimming with excitement and cultural immersion. If you're arriving from Jinghong, the bustling city in Southern China, you can expect a thrilling bus ride of approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. These buses depart regularly between 7AM and 6PM, allowing you to choose a convenient time for your travel. The adventure continues for those coming from the breathtaking region of Luang Namtha in Laos. Although this bus ride is slightly longer, lasting around 4 hours, the stunning landscapes along the way make it absolutely worth it. A word of advice: make sure to have some local currency in advance. While there is a Laotian bank near the border that offers fair currency exchange rates, it's unfortunate that the Luang Namtha bus does not make a stop there. Fear not, for there are plenty of reputable banks, such as China Construction Bank and Bank of China, that accept international ATM cards. Upon arriving by bus, you may find yourself at a depot. Keep an eye out for the ticketing station conveniently located just across the road, around 200 meters north. This destination welcomes you with open arms, promising an incredible adventure like no other.
