Welcome to Kahului Airport, the main gateway to the beautiful island of Maui. As the second largest commercial airport in the state, Kahului Airport offers a convenient starting point for your Maui adventure. Hawaiian Airlines, along with major U.S. airlines, provides non-stop service to Maui from various West Coast cities and beyond. Kahului Airport is well-connected, allowing you to easily reach this tropical paradise from places like Anchorage, Calgary, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Edmonton, Hilo, Honolulu, and many more [1]. To reach popular destinations like Lahaina and Kaanapali, simply exit the airport and follow Route 380 until you reach its junction with Route 30. Take a left on Route 30 and head towards Lahaina. If you're headed to Kihei and Wailea, continue on Route 30 and turn left on Route 31, about a mile from the Route 380 junction. Before you depart from Kahului Airport to the U.S. Mainland, please note that all baggage must be inspected by Hawaii State Department of Agriculture inspectors to prevent the spread of fruit flies. Fresh fruits, with the exception of pineapples and treated papayas, are prohibited from leaving the islands. Remember to enjoy any fresh fruit you have before going through the inspection, as it won't be allowed past that point. In addition to Kahului Airport, there are two smaller airports in Maui. Kapalua Airport (IATA: JHM) is located just north of Lahaina and Kaanapali, serving as a gateway to the West side of Maui. This small airport only accommodates propeller airplanes and does not have flights after dark due to limited runway lighting. It's a great option if you're looking to travel between Maui and Oahu, or occasionally to Lanai [2]. Hana Airport (IATA: HNM) is even smaller, situated on the east side of Maui and only three miles from the town of Hana. It primarily serves small single-engine propeller planes and is mostly used for flights between Hana and Kahului. Few flights are available, so be sure to check the schedules if you're planning to fly to or from Hana. With a variety of flight options and easy access to popular destinations in Maui, Kahului Airport is your starting point for an unforgettable island getaway. Get ready to immerse yourself in the beauty and charm of this tropical paradise.
