Understand
Prepare to immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the Manu National Park! This incredible natural reserve is divided into three zones, each offering a unique experience. First, we have the "core zone," a restricted area accessible only to scientists and researchers. It's where groundbreaking discoveries are made, but sadly, not open to the public. Next, we have the "reserved zone," which is where tourism thrives. However, access is limited to a select number of tour operators and their guided tours. While these trips can be a bit pricey, the wilderness and wildlife encounters they offer are truly priceless. Check out the list of reputable tour operators below. Last but not least, we have the "cultural zone" where local Amazonian communities reside. This zone is more accessible, and you can even venture into it on your own with proper precautions and arrangements. It's an opportunity to witness the traditions and ways of life of the Yine and Matsiguenka people. While wildlife sightings are more common in the reserved tourism zone, don't be disheartened. The cultural zone also offers incredible wildlife experiences, alongside the chance to visit native communities that still hold onto their traditional hunter-gatherer traditions. Get ready for an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Amazon!
Get in
Are you ready for an adventure to Manu? There are two thrilling ways to get there: 1. Embark on an epic journey by bus and boat. Start in Cusco and head to the San Jeronimo Colectivos to Paucartambo and Pilcopata. Catch a collectivo taxi at 11am for Salvacin, the largest town in Manu reachable by bus. Stay overnight in Salvacin before continuing your expedition by boat or bus the next day. This option may take some time, but the anticipation will only build! 2. Unfortunately, for now, flying to Manu is not available. But fear not, the other options will surely satisfy your thirst for adventure!
