If you're planning a trip to Mantralayam, get ready for a delightful adventure! The journey from Hyderabad takes around 6-8 hours by road, covering a distance of approximately 250 km. From Bangalore, it takes about 10 hours by road, which is around 600 km. To make your journey more comfortable, KSRTC has introduced a new bus called "Vaibhav," similar to "Rajahamsa." You can also opt for Volvo buses called "Airavat." These buses will take you directly to Mantralayam. If you prefer driving, take the NH7 highway in the direction of Bangalore from Hyderabad. At Jadcherla, take a diversion and follow various state roads that will lead you to Mantralayam via Mahboobnagar and Raichur in Karnataka. From Chennai, the route through Chittor is the best way to reach Mantralayam, covering a distance of around 650 km. To reach Mantralayam from Mangalore, take private buses to Bellary and then catch ample KSRTC buses to your destination. If you're a train enthusiast, Mantralayam Road is the nearest railhead. It lies on the Mumbai-Bangalore, Delhi-Bangalore, and Mumbai-Chennai train routes. Regular rail service is available, and many trains like Karnataka Express and Rajdhani make a technical stop at Mantralayam Road to refill water. The station is conveniently located near the Tungabhadra river, providing a vital source of fresh drinking water for the entire 900km route. From Mantralayam Road station, you can easily reach Mantralayam via private jeeps, taxis, auto-rickshaws, or public buses.
