Understand
Macedonia, a small indigenous community of approximately 1,300 people, is nestled in a beautiful hilly area along the Rio Amazonas. During the rainy season, be prepared for significant flooding and muddy conditions on all inland hikes. Don't forget to pack your sturdy boots! One of the most enchanting aspects of Macedonia is its lack of connectivity. While you can access the internet through your phone, it won't be an effortless task. You'll need to seek out two or three specific spots where you may be lucky enough to find a strong signal. It's like embarking on a technology treasure hunt! Electricity is limited in Macedonia, relying on a gas-powered generator that only runs for a few hours in the morning and evening. This results in the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the serene surroundings of the forest. Without the distractions of radios or TVs, you'll hear the mesmerizing sounds of nature echoing through the air. Truly a sanctuary for those seeking tranquility and a break from the constant buzz of modern life.
